How We Work
Second chances don’t come from programs alone. They take shape through relationships built over time.
Our work is centered on addiction recovery and harm reduction. It often begins with immediate, practical care—offering comfort items, treating minor injuries, or stepping into a moment of crisis with calm, steady presence. Our team is trained in basic first aid and Narcan administration, allowing us to respond when situations turn urgent.
Just as often, the work is relational. We take time to sit and listen to people who aren’t always heard. We offer in-the-moment support and counseling—helping someone think through a decision, de-escalate a situation, or simply feel grounded enough to get through the day.
As trust builds, that care can grow into something more: walking alongside someone in recovery, helping them navigate services, or supporting their steps toward housing and stability.
We meet people where they are, without judgment or pressure, and we stay consistent. Some days the work is immediate and practical. Other days it’s quiet and relational. Both matter.
There’s no single path forward. But there is trust, consistency, and the belief that change is possible—built over time, through real relationships, and a steady presence that doesn’t disappear.

Mission and Culture
Second Chance Recovery Alliance exists to walk alongside people seeking a way forward from addiction, instability, and hard circumstances, offering practical support rooted in dignity, trust, and consistency. Our culture is simple and intentional: we lead with presence, we listen before we act, and we build relationships that last. There’s no judgment here, no pressure to fit a mold—just steady, human connection and a commitment to stand with people as they rebuild, at their own pace, in their own way.
The Second Chance Recovery Alliance is a ministry of the Old Catholic Diocese of the Pacific, a designated nonprofit pursuant to IRS Code 501(c)(3).
